Dragonette produces dirty, hook-heavy, electro-pop monsters like “I Get Around” and “Competition”, depicting a world of guilt-free promiscuity and sexual predators on the prowl. It’s fair to say, Dragonette are not a band who’ve come up the hard way on the toilet gig circuit. Through a few strokes of fortune their second-ever show was supporting New Order at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom, followed by a US tour supporting Duran Duran. With recent collaborations on the massive club hits “Hello” with Martin Solveig and “Fire In Your New Shoes” with Kaskade, Dragonette have become one of the more recognized acts in mainstream dance music. The Knocks - Ben “B-Roc” Ruttner and James “Jpatt” Patterson - garnered their name from the early days of their production career when they tirelessly worked out of their home studios and complaining neighbors would knock on their doors. Coupled with DJing and making mixtapes, the pair cobbled together enough money to open their own studio; HeavyRoc Music. Icona Pop is a duo from Stockholm, Sweden. For some time, the duo was based in London, where they attracted international attention, including the debut single "Manners" on French Kitsuné Music, and "Nights Like This" on British Mercury Records. Caroline Hjelt and Aino Jawo deliver pop music essentials like clapped beats, fizzy electronics, cute female vocals and a Sesame Street chorus.

Everyone can now make music. The increasing access to music related technology and the liquid flow of music and information is a blessing to aspiring musicians, but a curse to those who have to sift through the terrible mash-ups and tunes in order to find quality music. Based out... Read More →
