Tim Thompson describes his history of interactive installations at Burning Man, using a variety of controllers in unique interfaces aimed at both musicians and non-musicians. His most recent work is the Space Palette, which uses the Microsoft Kinect to provide three-dimensional multitouch mousepads in mid-air. Recent experiences with and technical details of the Space Palette will be discussed, and it will be available for people to play with after the talk.
