Global Selektors 1

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Global Selektors 1 will feature three artists who have been bridging the gap between UK underground bass music, disco and house. Over the past three years, Brooklyn's FaltyDL has managed to release on several of the UK's most influential labels, including Ninja Tune and Planet Mu. Impossible to categorize, Falty's output ranges from 2-step, to juke, to deep house, to grime and all points in-between.
Originally known as co-founder and producer for the influential Skull Disco imprint, in recent years Appleblim has been exploring the soulful sounds of deep house and disco both as a deejay and producer. For the past two years Slow Hands has been one of the main proponents of the slow-mo and sultry house revolution. Drawing from blues, jazz and trippy electronic music, his productions and deejaying spans decades of musical influence.

But after a member left the band, the group soon disbanded and Osborne was left to start over again from square one.   Working in a record store and looking for inspiration anywhere he could find it, Osborne soon cottoned to... Drew Cyrus Lustman is a musician in love with complexity and beautiful simplicity alike. On the one hand, the 26-year-old one-time sushi chef grew up playing piano and upright bass in jazz and classical groups, and cites Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, Squarepusher and Weather Report as life-changing influences; on the other, he loves clubs, loves to dance, and considers hip hop, house, jungle and UK garage to be as important as any of those virtuoso... Slow Hands

Double Standard, Wolf + Lamb
One of the main proponents of the current slow-mo and sultry house revolution, Slow Hands aka Ryan Cavanagh is an organic specialist. His rich yet languid style bares all the hallmarks of the classical and compositional training he has had, whilst everything from jazz to blues to trippy electronica inform the New Yorker’s well honed production palette.
