Olaf Bender aka Byetone and Frank Bretschneider founded the record label Rastermusic in 1996. Rastermusic wanted to publish their own electronic music projects and those of other similar working artists. Byetone creates his music digitally. He assembles sine tones to complex sound fabrics. Digital clicks and effect plug-ins are essential to create the rhythms.
Kangding Ray is David Letellier. He works in the fields of music, architecture, performances and installations. Letellier evolved as a guitarist and drummer in bands whose influences ranged from noise-rock, to jazz, before buying an Akai sampler, and moving on to electronic music. Emptyset is a Bristol based production project formed in 2005 by James Ginzburg, director of the Multiverse studios and network of labels and the curator and electronic artist Paul Purgas. The project explores the legacy of analogue media, integrating aspects of rhythm, signal processing and spatial recording within the framework of minimalist composition.
