For over 30 years techno has served as a canvas for some of underground dance music's most adventurous artists and sounds. The stripped-down format has allowed for continued growth and evolution, while new digital tools have offered infinite sonic possibilities. At the forefront of this movement we're proud to present three of techno's most prolific artists, all pushing the boundaries of time and space through precision productions.

With a PhD in computational biology, it's clear that Max Cooper is one of the brainiest producers in underground dance music today. With a dozen EPs and over 40 remixes to his credit over the past three years he is without question one of the most prolific. A seductive mixture of intricate melody and poly-rhythms, Cooper’s music is as cinematic as it is visceral. This is brain-dance of the highest caliber. Frankfurt has given birth to some of techno's most influential figures, but none as diverse and productive as Roman Flügel. As half of the techno duo Alter Ego, Flügel helped forge the neo-electro movement that paved the way for artists like Justice, Boys Noize and Deadmau5. His solo productions and remixes range from blistering techno to beautifully constructed deep house. Outside of his massive body of work, Roman is widely known as one of the best deejays in all of Europe.
Leftroom label boss, producer and deejay Matt Tolfrey has continually bridged the gap between techno and house. Known for his marathon deejay sets and tastemaker selections, Tolfrey has emerged in recent years as one of Europe's most respected underground dance music deejays and producers.

Dial, Klang
It all started with one of these Chicago Trax compilations on DM/STREETSOUNDS. As a reaction to his thirsting for more of these crazed beats from overseas and with a view to his tight budget, the greatest hits of these expensive imported 12” singles were soon released in the form... Read More →
